Probably Stolen beginner guide: your first week
Goal of the game: earn enough to buy out your shop before rising rent forces you out.
The core loop
- Source stock from sellers at your counter, vendors, or scavenging after closing.
- Verify it: appraise and authenticate; suppliers overstate value.
- Sell: put stock in the display case, read the buyer's tags and budget, then haggle.
- Survive: keep rent money aside. Rent rises every week no matter how you did.
- Grow: add one production line (water, wine, rats, machines) only after rent is safe.
Your first 7 days VERIFY in 1.0
| Day | Do this | Don't do this |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Follow the intro, read your lease and calendar, note the rent countdown | Buy machines |
| 2–3 | Repeat one simple buy-sell loop; learn customer tags | Buy every cheap item |
| 4–5 | Add one expansion (water tools, appraisal, wine or rats) | Expand twice |
| 6 | Check the next bill and your cash | Lock rent money in unfinished wine |
| 7 | Pay rent first | Count unsold stock as cash |
Five rules that save runs
- Unsold inventory is not cash. The landlord takes Credits only.
- Falling behind on rent snowballs: lower attractiveness → fewer customers → less revenue. See rent & security.
- Every customer could be Security. Approve, refuse, report or look away — someone is taking notes.
- Hide contraband separately from legal stock.
- Shoot AI-controlled customers — every faction agrees on this one.
